Supporting Up and Coming CSW Leaders

“How does the Community Science Workshop help with or address gang prevention in the community?”
“Are you an after-school program?”

CSW staff are frequently asked these questions, which can be tricky to answer because of the unique nature of the Community Science Workshop (see What is a CSW? page for more info). Last week we offered a special training specifically to help staff grapple with these questions and take the time to look at the broader picture. We’re excited to work with such dedicated and passionate staff, many of which began as participants themselves at a young age. This was just a first step, and we look forward to continuing to support this next generation of CSW leaders!

We also had a great discussion about how we connect all the #making and #tinkering happening in our community and CSW through social media. Keep an eye out for CSW Network on instagram, as well as new bilingual hashtags like #HechoEnCSW or #CSWdrafts for tracking the progress of student projects. Join the discussion if you haven’t already on Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube!
