Fresno Community Science

Fresno Community Science Workshop has been in operation for 15 years, for 10 years of which the program has been self-sustained through the City of Fresno’s general fund and various contracts with surrounding school districts. The workshops in Fresno include a site at Granny’s Neighborhood Park, and Mobile Science Workshops that travel to schools, events and community organizations in the region offering hands-on science and tinkering programs.

The workshop has been supported over the years by one-time acquisition grants to purchase the mobile science vehicles, life environmental science grants, sponsorships with organizations throughout the City of Fresno, collaborations through the universities and city colleges, California State Parks FAM Camp Program and most recently partnering with the River Tree Volunteer group to provide summer programming for students on the San Joaquin River.
