Science Workshop Youth Employee Honored by Local Paper

Sal at Bike ShackSal Lua, a high school student employed by the Watsonville Environmental Community Science Workshop, was one of five youth activists singled out for exceptional service to the community by the Santa Cruz Good Times in their December, 15, story “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Linda Koffman.  He talks about how the positive opportunities in his life have helped him to turn away from gangs, and how his experience teaching at the Watsonville CSW is preparing him for life as a teacher.  Read the whole article here for an inspiring story highlighting how CSW’s, and other community-based organizations, can help to change lives.
