Greenfield is the newest CSW in the Network, and was established in 2011 with support from the S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation. The workshop is located in the former City Hall in the center of downtown Greenfield, and is half a mile from each of three schools: one local elementary school, the middle school, and the high school. Two additional elementary schools are each one mile distant from the site.
The Greenfield CSW operates a robust drop in program five days per week, and conducts after-school programs at several local elementary schools, as well as a robotics program at Vista Verde Middle School that includes participation in the annual underwater ROV competition conducted by MATE. Classes from two local schools walk to the workshop for school-day science enrichment field trips, and the Migrant Education program partners with the Greenfield CSW to offer Science Workshop activities to migrant youth during school breaks. The Greenfield CSW is supported by grants from the CSW Network, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and the Community Foundation of Monterey County.
